The Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act-2005) has been enacted by the Parliament and has come into force from 15th June, 2005. The Act provides the right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities that promotes transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. All University and Colleges established by law made by the parliament or by State Legislature or by the notification of appropriate Govt. authority or controlled or substantially financed directly or indirectly by funds provided by the Govt. shall come within the purview of Public Authority under this Act. As per the directive of the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal and UGC Guidelines Sukanta Mahavidyalaya implemented the Right to Information Act-2005. As per the resolution taken in the GB meeting no. 259, dated 28.02.2022, the college appointed DR. APURBA BARMAN as the State Public Information Officer.
