Sukanta Mahavidyalaya was founded on September 25, 1981 situated at Dhupguri of Jalpaiguri District. Sukanta Mahavidyalaya Post Graduate Learner Support Centre (LSC) of Rabindra Bharati University has been an integral part of this college. The aim of establishment of this LSC is to provide and spread good quality higher education to those who are interested. Rabindra Bharati University approved Sukanta Mahavidyalaya as a LSC in 2006, offering Post Graduate courses in the following subjects:
Bengali, English, Education, Environmental Studies, History, Political Science, and Sanskrit.
